Chastin West was an explosive and versatile player who was a team leader for the Fresno State Bulldogs. He had two returns for touchdowns in his career and emerged in 2006 as one of the top receiving threats in the WAC. West is a big, fast receiver who had great leadership ability and led a talented group of receivers. In 2009, West caught 30 passes for 472 yards and 2 Touchdowns. He was also a force as a kick returner, returning 8 kickoffs for 182 yards and 22.8 average.
West does a good job of gaining a step of separation with crisp routes and head-and-shoulder fakes. He does a good job of reading coverages and finding the soft spots in zones and is a natural receiver. He can also adjust to slightly off-target throws and has a wide receiving radius. He finds holes in zone coverage on underneath routes and has the body control to adjust to errant throws. At 6 ‘1, 215 pounds, he has strong hands and catches the ball well away from his body. The future is bright for this talented receiver.

Chastin West Game Worn 2008 Rose Bowl TOUCHDOWN Gloves (Worn against UCLA in 36-31 Win)
West wore the following gloves in the Bulldogs 36-31 victory over UCLA in the 2008 Rose Bowl. Tom Brandstater threw for three touchdowns and Ryan Mathews ran for one score and caught another. Brandstater was 21 of 30 for 236 yards, including touchdowns of 28 yards to Chastin West, 22 yards to Mathews, and 4 yards to Bear Pascoe, the final two as the Bulldogs opened a 36-22 lead in the third quarter. West had a monster game with five receptions for 69 yards and a touchdown. Fresno State did something that a non-BCS team hadn’t done against UCLA in the Rose Bowl in 25 years. It was the 1st time a team from a non-BCS conference had beat the Bruins in the Rose Bowl since 1983 when BYU beat the Bruins.

West wore the outstanding jersey for home games in 2008. There is a Humanitarian embroidery on the right chest and a Fresno State Football Academic Achiever Patch across left chest. There is a Nike Size tag in inside collar, Nike team tag on lower left tail with laundry tag present inside left tail. West had 18 receptions for 214 yards and a 49-yard punt return for a Touchdown against San Jose State in 2008. He averaged 16.2 yards in nine returns. Awesome jersey!
