Derrick Locke is a running back for the University of Kentucky Wildcats. He was named all-state in high school and went on to have a tremendous career with the Wildcats.
Locke ran for 887 yards and 10 touchdowns this past season, despite missing four straight games in October and November with an injury. Locke ran for over 100 yards in each of Kentucky’s first four games in 2010, including a season-high 166 yards in a 47-10 win over Akron. Locke also shined at the Swamp, running for over 100 yards in the Wildcats loss at Florida. He had five 100-yard rushing efforts this year and one 100-yard receiving game. A threat in the return game as well, Locke totaled 395 yards in kickoff returns for an average of 26.3 yards per return.
The Hugo, Oklahoma native wrapped up his impressive career ranked sixth on Kentucky’s all-time list with 2,618 rushing yards. He also set the school mark for kickoff return average (27.1) and is third in school history with 4,973 all-purpose yards. He had 27 total touchdowns over the course of his career—two of those coming on 100-yard kickoff returns. Most scouts are predicting Locke as a 3rd-4th round draft pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. The former track star has deceptive speed and wastes little motion when he runs.

The 2011 Under Armour Senior Bowl was played on January 29th, 2011 in Mobile’s Ladd-Peebles Stadium. The South beat the North 24-10 behind Christian Ponder’s 2 touchdown passes and 132 yards in the air. Locke had a great game for the South with 37 yards, including an important 15-yard gain on a 4th and 1. Leonard Hankerson had 5 catches for 100 yards and a touchdown for the South as well.
The Wildcats star running back wore these outstanding black and white under Armour 4D cleats in the 2011 Senior Bowl. The size 11 cleats show great use and have been signed by Locke who has added “2011 Senior Bowl 1/29/11 South 24 North 10” to both cleats. Locke’s #20 is written in heel in gold. Outstanding!!!!
