Deon Norris is a 6-4, 260 pound Defensive Tackle for the Norfolk State Spartans. The New Jersey native was a disruptive force on the Spartans defense. He didn’t post big numbers but did a lot of the dirty work on a team that went 7-4 and was one of the leaders in sacks and takeaways.
In 2008, Norris had 16 tackles, 2.5 for loss, and one sack on the year. He also had one fumble recovery and one interception. He had three tackles, including half of a sack, against North Carolina A & T. His best game came against Florida A & M when he had three tackles, one TFL, half of a sack, and an interception. The defensive tackle also recorded three tackles and a fumble recovery against Morgan State and notched a career-high four tackles vs. Delaware State.
He was back at it in his senior season with 22 Tackles, 1 Sack, 8 Tackles for losses (TFL), 1 Forced Fumble and two recovered fumbles. Norris has been training hard in the off-season at TEST Sports Football Academy and looking to hear his name in the 2010 NFL Draft.
