Darien Williams is a defensive back for the Hartford Colonials of the United Football League. Williams was one of 20 players chosen to the Colonial’s protected players list. After finishing 2nd on the team with 31 tackles and 8th in the UFL, Williams should be a key component to the team’s success in 2010. Williams played college football at Oklahoma where he was one of the Sooner’s defensive stars.
As a junior, Williams made 67 tackles, picked off a pass, and recorded two sacks and he was named All-Big 12 honorable mention for his performance.
Williams was unfortunately injured most of his senior season. He did come back for the Fiesta Bowl and was a force in Oklahoma’s 48-28 Win over West Virginia. He recorded 10 tackles, one tackle for a loss, and blocked Pat McAfee’s 44-yard field goal at the end of the 1st half.
Sooner or later, Williams will be playing a prominent role on an NFL defense.
