Kenny Onatolu is a linebacker for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League. He was signed by the Edmonton Eskimos as an undrafted free agent in 2007. He played college football at Nebraska-Omaha where he earned Division II All-America honors as a junior and senior by Collegesportsreport.com, and recorded 324 career total tackles in his collegiate career, 5th in school history. He was named All-North Central Conference after each of his 4 seasons (2nd team his sophomore year), and captured team’s Outstanding LB award in 2005 and Defensive MVP award in 2006.

After going undrafted in 2007, Onatolu attended an Edmonton Eskimos minicamp after his twin brother Taiwo had a similar experience. He was invited to training camp and eventually made the team. During his rookie season in the CFL, Onatolu recorded eight tackles and a sack.

The following season, Onatolu had a monster year with the Edmonton Eskimos setting career highs in all major statistical categories. He tallied 60 tackles in 14 games, good for 3rd on the team, with another 8 coming on special teams. Onatolu also tied for 1st on the team with 4 TFLs, tied for 2nd with 2 FRs and tied for 4th with 3 sacks. He led or tied for the team lead in tackles in 7 out of the 14 games he played in and added 5 in the Eskimos East Semi-Final Game against Winnipeg.

In 2009 NFL debut with the Vikings, Onatolu made the most of his opportunities by seeing action in all 16 games and both playoff contests. The hard working linebacker tied for the team lead in special teams tackles with 24. Notched at least 1 special teams tackle in 14 regular season games. He also posted season-best 3 special teams tackles in 3 games. Onatolu also had a pivotal special teams stop in the NFC Divisional Playoff game vs. Dallas on January 17th, 2010 and recovered a fumble in the NFC Championship Game on punt coverage when Reggie Bush had the ball forced out by fellow Vikings coverage man Eric Frampton.

Kenny Onatolu RARE 2005 Game Worn Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks Jersey

Onatolu wore this fantastic Adidas crimson and white Nebraska-Omaha (UNO) Mavericks jersey during the 2005 season. It’s Rare for these jerseys to make it to the marketplace, especially one obtained directly from one of the most famous Mavericks of all time! The jersey shows great use with several repairs and marks. There is an Adidas label on lower left tail with size 48 and 02 hangtags. The jersey was reused for several seasons. A lot of the smaller schools that don’t have the big budgets like the major colleges for athletic programs reuse jerseys. Onatolu’s “21” is on front and back with adidas embroidery on right shoulder. The nameplate on back is stitched on with pressed lettering “K. ONATOLU”. Outstanding!!!!!
