Mike Johnson is a linebacker with the Seattle Seahawks. The powerful linebacker played college ball for the North Alabama Lions where he had a tremendous career.
Johnson was named the Ron Lenz National Defensive Player of the Year. Johnson, a Panama City, FL native was a four-year starter for the North Alabama Lions and a two-time All America pick. The hard-hitting linebacker led the North Alabama defense to a Gulf South Conference championship and helped them advance to the Super Region 2 championship game. It completed an incredible college career by Johnson who had previously been selected Gulf South Conference Defensive Player of the Year and Daktronics Super Region 2 Defensive Player of the Year.
Johnson had an incredible 113 tackles with 17 tackles for losses and 5 sacks in 13 games in 2009. In UNA’s win over Carson-Newman, Johnson was a one man wrecking crew finishing with 14 tackles, including a game-high eight solo stops. He also had 2 sacks, forced one fumble and had an interception, which led to him being named GSC Player of the Week. Johnson should make a great addition to the Seahawks defense.
