He played college football for the Georgia Bulldogs.Battle has also been a member of the Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Lions and the Cleveland Browns.
The intelligent and competitive safety had a great career for the Bulldogs. His best game came against the #5 Ranked Auburn Tigers when he had a school-record three interceptions, all in the first half. The Bulldogs whipped the Tigers 37-15 in front of 87,451 at Jordan-Hare Stadium, beating a top five opponent on its field for the first time in school history. The Forsyth native became the first Georgia player to have three interceptions in a game since Terry Hoage did it against Vanderbilt in 1982. He returned one of his interceptions for a 30-yard touchdown to help the Bulldogs take an impressive 30-7 halftime lead. Battle’s great effort led to him being named the SEC’s Defensive Player of the Week.
