Zac Diles is a linebacker for the Houston Texans of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Texans in the seventh round of the 2007 NFL Draft and played college football at Kansas State.
Diles is a defensive fireplug that is a physical tackler with great read-and-diagnose skills. After the Kansas State Wildcats went through a trying season in 2005, the new coaching staff placed the defensive signal calling duties into the capable hands of Diles, and the result was a postseason berth in the Texas Bowl. In 24 games at Kansas State, Diles started 13 contests and produced 149 tackles (65 solos) with 5.5 sacks for minus-37 yards, 13 stops for losses of 57 yards and four pressures. He caused three fumbles, recovered another, knocked down two passes and had one interception.
Diles has become an integral part of the Houston Texans defense. The linebacker has the functional short-area burst to chase down plays, with the lateral agility to zero in on ball carriers on the perimeter. He moves well laterally, keeps his feet in traffic and does a good job of riding contact down the line and takes proper angles in attempts to close. Diles has amassed over 200 tackles in his 1st four NFL seasons, including 82 in 2010. The sky is the limit for the 25 year old tackling machine.

The game was played on August 28th, 2010 in Houston and the Texans won 23-7 behind Arian Foster’s 110 rushing yards. Foster became the 1st Houston Texan ever to rush for more than 100 yards in a preseason game. Diles had a strong game with 4 tackles.
