Ja’Marr Chase is a record-breaking NFL wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals. Drafted 5th overall in 2021, the former LSU standout holds the distinction of being the only player in NFL history with at least 500 receptions and 50 receiving touchdowns in his first five seasons.
Born in Harvey, Louisiana, Chase attended Archbishop Rummel High School. He went on to play collegiate football at Louisiana State University (LSU). During the historic 2019 season, Chase broke out as one of the best receivers in college football, catching 84 passes for 1,780 yards and 20 touchdowns. He helped lead the Tigers to an undefeated 15-0 season and a College Football Playoff National Championship while securing the Fred Biletnikoff Award as the nation’s top receiver.
After opting out of the 2020 college football season, Chase was selected by the Bengals in the 1st round (5th overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft. He immediately took the NFL by storm, setting the Super Bowl-era rookie record for receiving yards (1,455) and helping the Bengals reach Super Bowl LVI. His accolades in his debut season included AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, PFWA Rookie of the Year, and Pro Bowl honors.
