Blake Sorensen

Blake Sorensen is a linebacker for the Seattle Seahawks. He played college football for the Wisconsin Badgers and received the Jay Seiler Coaches’ Appreciation Award (Defense) in 2010.

Sorensen played sparingly in his first three years at Wisconsin but received his chance to shine following the season ending injury to Chris Borland early in the 2010 season. Once Sorensen got on the field, he immediately took care of business. For the 2010 season, he ended up leading the Badgers in tackles and finishing second in interceptions, an impressive feat for a linebacker. He had his best game against the #1 Ranked Ohio State Buckeyes. He had 10 tackles and had the game-sealing interception sending Terrelle Pryor and Coach Jim Tressel out of Camp Randall Stadium for the final time. The Badgers knocked off the Buckeyes 31-18. Northern Illinois head coach and former UW defensive coordinator Dave Doeren noted that Sorensen’s versatility was one of his best traits. Sorensen also had a huge Rose Bowl against TCU with 6 tackles.
