Description

Brendon Kay is a free agent quarterback, most recently playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was signed by the Steelers as an undrafted free agent following the 2014 NFL Draft. Kay played his college football at University of Cincinnati.

Kay finished his college career with the Bearcats throwing for 4647 yards and 32 touchdowns. In his senior season, he was named American Athletic Conference Player of the Week after going 29 of 50 for 386 yards and two touchdowns in a 24-17 victory on Nov. 23 at Houston. He was coming off a 406-yard, four-TD performance in a win at Rutgers. Overall, he led the Bearcats to 8 wins in 11 games his senior year.

Late in the 2012 season, Kay was inserted into the starting lineup for Cincinnati in place of an ineffective Munchie Legaux and sparked the Bearcats to a share of the then-Big East title. After getting another year of eligibility from the NCAA, Kay returned as the backup in 2013 but was called upon again to replace Legaux again after the starter suffered a gruesome leg injury in the second game of the season. Tommy Tuberville wasted no time turning the team over to Kay and was rewarded for it.

Kay stepped up and led the Cincy offense through the air, throwing for at least 299 yards in each of the Bearcats’ final six games, including back-to-back 400-yard performances in the games leading up to their season finale loss to the Louisville Cardinals. His performance sparked Cincinnati to a six-game winning streak as they won six of their last seven games of the season win nine games in the regular season.

Kay also excelled at the Bearcats Pro Day running an unofficial 40-yard dash of 4.63 seconds (some watches had him under 4.6) broad jump of 10 feet, 1½ inches and a vertical jump of 34 inches. The 4.63 would have tied Kay for the second best time among quarterbacks at the NFL combine. Texas A&M star Johnny Manziel ran a 4.68 at the combine. The 34-inch vertical would have tied him for third, and the 10-1½ broad jump would have been the best among quarterbacks in Indianapolis. Kay also had a stellar day throwing the ball in front of the 19 NFL Scouts who were on hand to watch him.

The featured black adidas xl sleeveless was worn by Brendon Kay in training as a member of the Cincinnati Bearcats. The talented quarterback has signed the shirt and added “Go Bearcats” in silver. Kay’s #11 is written in the player id label in the collar. Sweet!
