Description

Brendon Kay is a free agent quarterback, most recently playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was signed by the Steelers as an undrafted free agent following the 2014 NFL Draft. Kay played his college football at University of Cincinnati.

Kay finished his college career with the Bearcats throwing for 4647 yards and 32 touchdowns. In his senior season, he was named American Athletic Conference Player of the Week after going 29 of 50 for 386 yards and two touchdowns in a 24-17 victory on Nov. 23 at Houston. He was coming off a 406-yard, four-TD performance in a win at Rutgers. Overall, he led the Bearcats to 8 wins in 11 games his senior year.

In Kay’s senior year he was forced into the starting lineup and responded with 3284 yards and 22 touchdowns. The quarterback is smart and poised and stays away from mental mistakes. Kay knows how to step up and avoid the rush or moves outside the pocket to give himself a better view of the field. Kay displays good speed and timing on throws, is extremely accurate and a great team leader.

Kay also excelled at the Bearcats NFL Pro Day running an unofficial 40-yard dash of 4.63 seconds (some watches had him under 4.6) broad jump of 10 feet, 1½ inches and a vertical jump of 34 inches. The 4.63 would have tied Kay for the second best time among quarterbacks at the NFL combine. Texas A&M star Johnny Manziel ran a 4.68 at the combine. The 34-inch vertical would have tied him for third, and the 10-1½ broad jump would have been the best among quarterbacks in Indianapolis. Kay also had a stellar day throwing the ball in front of the 19 NFL Scouts who were on hand to watch him.

The featured Cincinnati Bearcats adidas xl sweatpants were worn by Brendon Kay for Orange Bowl weekend when the Bearcats faced the Virginia Tech Hokies on January 1st, 2009. Hokies running back Darren Evans had 28 carries for 153 yards and a touchdown, Virginia Tech’s defense came up with four interceptions and the 21st-ranked Hokies beat the 12th-ranked Bearcats 20-7 to join Southern California and Texas as the only schools to win 10 games in each of the past five seasons. Mardy Gilyard had 255 all-purpose yards and a touchdown catch for Cincinnati (11-3), which had its six-game winning streak snapped. Kay’s #11 is written on inside ID label and the sweatpants are in great condition.
