David DeCastro Pittsburgh Steelers Game Worn & Signed White, Black & Gray Nike Gloves

David DeCastro is an All-Pro offensive guard for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the NFL. He played college football for Stanford University, and earned All-American honors. The Steelers selected him in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft, where he was considered one of the best guards prospects available.

David DeCastro was born in Kirkland, Washington. Of South African descent, DeCastro grew up in Bellevue, where he attended Bellevue High School, where he was teammates with former NFL Chargers & Seahawks offensive guard Stephen Schilling. He grew up a Seahawks fan, idolizing Steve Hutchinson.

Also a standout athlete, David DeCastro competed for the school’s track & field team as a shot putter. He got a top-throw of 17.93 meters at the 2008 Washington 3A-4A State T&F Championship, winning the event. He also competed in the discus (top-throw of 37.24 meters). Considered a three-star prospect by he was listed as the No. 11 center in the class of 2008. He chose Stanford over offers from Washington, Washington State, and Oregon State.

David DeCastro started all 39 games at the right guard position during his three-year career with Stanford. DeCastro is a two-time first team all-conference selection and an unanimous All-America selection in 2011. DeCastro’s blocking skills in the run game helped Stanford amass three of the top four single-season rushing totals in school history. He also helped anchor an offensive line that allowed just 24 sacks over a three-year span (2009-11). DeCastro’s pass protection aided quarterback Andrew Luck who established school career records for passing efficiency, completion percentage and touchdowns.

David DeCastro is rarely moved in pass protection and dominates as a run blocker with technical precision, toughness and intelligence. He’s at his best on the move because of his nifty footwork and agility, pulling to lead in the running game, and plays every down with the intent to bury a defender.

David DeCastro returned in 2014 to complete his first full season after starting all 16 games of the regular season as the Steeler’s finished 11-5. On January 3rd, 2014 he played in his first career postseason game against the Baltimore Ravens.

In 2015 with the Pittsburgh Steelers, David DeCastro started in all regular season games and was elected to his first NFL Pro Bowl.

In 2016, DeCastro started all 16 regular season games and brought his consecutive games played streak to 56 in-a-row. The Pittsburgh Steelers finished first in the AFC North finishing with 11-5 record. They went on to defeat the Miami Dolphins in the AFC Wildcard, the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Divisional, and lost the AFC Championship to the New England Patriots. The Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line was ranked the third best by Pro Football Focus, with DeCastro being ranked as the Steeler’s top run blocker. He was named to his second straight Pro Bowl for the 2016 season.

The featured white, black and gray nike gloves were game worn by David DeCastro during 2015, his 1st Pro Bowl season with the Steelers. The talented offensive lineman has signed the gloves and added “Game Worn” to the right one. The gloves show good use!!
