Description

Nick Bellore is a linebacker and special teamer with the San Francisco 49ers. He played his college ball at Central Michigan University where he had a great career. Bellore signed with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2011.

Bellore was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, and attended Whitefish Bay High School, graduating in 2007. He chose to attend Central Michigan for a chance to start at linebacker immediately, despite interest from the University of Wisconsin and Kansas State University.

Bellore started 52 games in his career, which is tied for the most in school history. He ranks third in CMU history with 472 total tackles including an outstanding 24 career 10-tackle games. Bellore had three consecutive 100-tackle seasons and was just the sixth player in CMU history to earn All-MAC first team honors in three different seasons. For his stellar 2010 season, he was selected to play in 2011 East-West Shrine Game and was named to the All-MAC first team defense. He also earned the Ring of Honor team award and was elected as a co-captain by his teammates. He was named MAC West Division Defensive Player of the Week for performance against Hampton (9/2) which included 11 tackles, including a tackle for loss. For the 2010 season, he added four more 10-plus tackle games. (Northwestern, Northern Illinois, Western Michigan and Toledo) In the Northern Illinois game, he dominated posting a season-high 14 tackles in loss.

The Chippewas appeared in three bowl games during Bellore’s career, winning one (the 2010 GMAC Bowl), only the second bowl win in CMU history. He was also selected as CMU’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2008 and 2009.

Bellore played in all 64 games with the Jets over the past four seasons (2011-14), and registered three tackles along with 90 special teams tackles. In 2014, he ranked second on the team with 15 special teams tackles. Bellore led the team in special teams tackles in each of his first three seasons with the Jets (31 in 2011, 17 in 2012 and 27 in 2013). On October 14th, 2012, Bellore caught his first career pass on a fake punt by Tim Tebow. He gained 23 yards on the play. Jets coaches looked into converting him to play fullback in training camp of 2012, but the experiment was short lived and he returned to linebacker. On January 6, 2015, Bellore was named to the 2014 Pro Football Focus All-Pro Team.

Bellore is a smart player that has great instincts and is rarely fooled by play action or misdirection. He possesses the closing burst to make plays in the backfield and is a great leader. His work ethic, leadership and relentless motor make him a great addition to the San Francisco 49ers dominant defense.

The featured white and black nike superbad cleats were game worn by Bellore when the Jets faced the Oakland Raiders on September 25th, 2011. The Raiders won 34-24 behind Darren McFadden’s 171 yards and 2 Touchdowns but Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez threw for a career high 369 yards in the loss. Bellore had a tackle in the game and has signed the cleats and added “Worn 9/25/11 Vs. Raiders, Sanchez 369 Yards 1 Tackle” to the left cleat.
