Description

Dallas Hendrikson is a former center for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. The tough, smart center missed all of 2011 with a torn ACL but rebounded to have successful seasons in 2012 and 2013. He was an integral part of the 2012 team that went 9-4 and won the school’s first ever Big East Conference football championship, sharing the conference title with Cincinnati, Louisville, and Syracuse.

The 6-foot-2, 295-pound center was a three-time all-state player for St. Ansgar, but got no Division I looks coming out of high school. He opted to play at Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, where he was a two-time all-Midwest Football Conference first-team selection. Hendrikson helped guide Iowa Western to the Midwest Football Conference Championship in only the program’s second year in 2010. The team finished the season 9-2, including a 9-0 mark in the regular season and climbed as high as No. 2 in the National Junior College Athletic Association national rankings. The team finished the 2010 campaign ranked No. 11 in the NJCAA national rankings.

After two productive years at Iowa Western Community College, the 6-foot-2, 290-pound Iowa native enrolled at Rutgers in January, 2011 and was projected as the opening day starter that fall. During spring practice, he tore his anterior cruciate ligament and was lost for the season. Hendrikson took a redshirt, but when he came back healthy in 2012, Betim Bujari had earned the starting center position.

When Betim Bujari suffered an ankle injury during 2013, Hendrikson earned his 2nd career start with the Scarlet Knights. After replacing Bujari, Hendrikson never looked back becoming a rock for Rutgers offensive line. Hendrikson, despite starting only five games while appearing in seven, was named the Scarlet Knights’ top offensive lineman at the team banquet.

The featured black and white nike gloves were game worn by Hendrikson on September 21st, 2013 when the Scarlet Knights faced the Arkansas Razorbacks. Rutgers quarterback Gary Nova threw touchdown passes of 33 and 4 yards to Leonte Carroo in the final 9:55 and Rutgers rallied from a 17-point, second-half deficit to beat previously undefeated Arkansas 28-24. Hendrikson has signed the gloves and added “2013 Vs Arkansas” to the left glove. Hendrikson’s #65 is written in black on size label on wristband. The right glove’s fingers were cut, Hendrikson prefers to snap the ball with his fingers exposed.
