John Griffin New York Jets 2013 OTAs Worn & Signed Black & Silver Nike Cleats

John Griffin is a free agent running back, most recently playing for the New York Jets of the National Football League. He signed with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent in 2011. He played college football at Northeastern until transferring to the University of Massachusetts for his senior season.

Griffin was a product of Northeastern for three years before the school axed their football program, rushing for 1,009 yards rushing on 207 carries and five touchdowns, catching 25 passes for 178 yards during his final season at Northeastern. He was named on the First Team All-CAA, Northeastern’s Most Valuable Player and Most Improve Player, also named to the 2009 New England Football Writers Football Championship Subdivision All-Star team.

Griffin, part of a backfield that included Jonathan Hernandez of Leominster, concluded his collegiate career by rushing for 843 yards for the 6-5 Minutemen. That total included 96 in a near upset of Michigan at the Big House and 75 in a win over Holy Cross. Between Northeastern and his only season at UMASS, Griffin rushed for 2,014 yards on 421 carries and 12 touchdowns.

Griffin was signed to the New York Jets’ practice squad on November 5, 2012. He was signed to the active roster on December 28, 2012. On August 9, 2013, in the Jets’ first preseason game against the Detroit Lions, Griffin suffered a broken leg. The injury occurred on a horse-collar tackle by linebacker Travis Lewis and he was placed on the team’s injured reserve list on August 13, 2013.

The featured black and silver nike cleats were worn by John Griffin in 2013 OTAs (Organized Team Activities) as a member of the New York Jets. Griffin has signed the cleats and added “2013 OTAs” to the right heel. The cleats show good use!
