Description

Kerry Wynn is a defensive end for the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League. He played college football at the University of Richmond. He was signed by the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent in 2014.

In 2009, Wynn was redshirted in high school where he led his team with 14 tackles and sacks. In 2010 due to an injury he only played three games. Wynn came back the next two years starting nearly every game in 2011 and leading the team again with 4 sacks and 7 tackles for a loss, and starting every game in 2012 leading the team with 4.5 sacks and 8 tackles for a loss. In 2013, Wynn became a third-team All-CAA selection after he started 10 games and recorded a career-high 11 tackles against North Carolina State University. The talented defensive end also totaled eight tackles, a tackle for a loss and a pass breakup at Rhode Island.

In his rookie season with the Giants, the 6-foot-5, 264-pound undrafted rookie had a sack, a fumble recovery, and an interception in a win against the St Louis Rams. Wynn completed his rookie season with 16 tackles, 1 1/2 sacks, an interception and fumble recovery in only 5 games. The future is bright for the 23 year old!

The NFL Scouting Combine is a week-long showcase, occurring every February in Indianapolis, Indiana Lucas Oil Stadium (and formerly at the RCA Dome until 2008), where college football players perform physical and mental tests in front of NFL coaches, general managers and scouts. With increasing interest in the NFL Draft, the scouting combine has grown in scope and significance, allowing personnel directors to evaluate upcoming prospects in a standardized setting. The 2014 NFL Scouting Combine occurred from February 19–25, 2014.

Wynn measured in at the Scouting Combine at 6-foot-4 7/8, 266 pounds. For a man of his size, you can’t expect much in the 40-yard dash, but Wynn ran a respectable 4.97 on Saturday. His hands measured in at 9 1/8 inches and his arm length was 31 5/8 inches.

The featured size 14 neon green, black and blue nike sneakers were worn by Kerry Wynn when he participated in the NFL Combine Vertical Leap Drill. The vertical jump at the NFL Combine measures a player’s ability to get off the ground, but the importance of the test goes beyond the ability to jump high. A player’s reach is measured before the jump and the prospect then jumps flat-footed to hit as many flags above them as possible. The player is then given a second opportunity to hit more flags and best his previous jump. Wynn measured a 34.5 Vertical Leap. The Bengals defensive end has signed the shoes and added “Combine Vertical Jump 34.5” in black. Sweet!
