Stephens played college baseball for Miami (Ohio) and was named First-Team All-Mid-American Conference as a junior and finished his collegiate career third all-time in Miami history with 53 career doubles.

In 2022 with Rome, Stephens was on an absolute tear crushing the baseball. The slugger hit 17 Home Runs and knocked in 61 Runs in only 257 At-Bats. He also added 47 runs and his OPS is off the charts at .873.
