Michael Hunter is a cornerback for the New York Giants. Hunter was signed by the New York Giants shortly after the 2016 NFL Draft as an undrafted free agent. He has also been a member of the New York Jets, Buffalo Bills and Denver Broncos. The cornerback played college football at Indiana University and transferred to Oklahoma State.

Hunter played for for head coach Don Shows at West Monroe High School in Louisiana. The cornerback was a member of the 2009 and 2010 all-northeast Louisiana and all-district teams. Hunter earned an All-state selection after recording 44 tackles, forced a pair of fumbles and recovered three fumbles in 2010. He also picked off one pass, broke up five passes and blocked one kick. Hunter was rated the No. 81 cornerback nationally by ESPN.com following his senior year. In addition to being a Four-year football letterwinner, Hunter also lettered in basketball and track. The cornerback was also an Academic all-state selection as a senior boasting a 4.0 grade point average.

At Indiana in his junior season (2014), Michael Hunter started all 12 games making 36 tackles, 29 solo, 3.5 tackles for loss (nine yards), one interception and five pass breakups. He also tied for third on the team with his five pass breakups and recorded an interception in the win against Purdue. Hunter also posted a season-high seven stops with a half-tackle for loss at Bowling Green and shared the team lead with six tackles, all solo, with one stop for loss and one pass breakup in the North Texas win. The cornerback also collected one tackle for a loss in the season-opening Indiana State win and at Iowa. Hunter also finished the year with one pass breakup in each of his final three games and was Two-time IU defensive player of the week (Ohio State and Purdue). In addition to his stellar play, Hunter was named an Academic All-Big Ten selection.

Michael Hunter joined the Oklahoma State Cowboys program as a graduate transfer after starting at Indiana. Hunter collected 20 tackles, two interceptions and a pass defensed. Hunter also had an impressive NFL Pro Day running the 40 -yard dash in: 4.40, Vertical leap: 38.5 inches, 60-yd shuttle: 11.27 and Bench Press reps: 17.

Ole Miss QB Chad Kelly threw for 302 yards and four touchdowns and ran for another 73 yards in the Rebels’ 48-20 Sugar Bowl win over Oklahoma State.
