SJ Green is a slotback for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He had previously played for the Montreal Alouettes. He was signed by the Alouettes as a street free agent in 2007. He played college football at South Florida. Green has also been a member of the New York Jets of the National Football League.

Green signed with the Alouettes in May 2007 following the 2007 NFL Draft. His first career Canadian Football League (CFL) reception came on June 29th, 2007 against the Saskatchewan Roughriders. His first career touchdown was against the Edmonton Eskimos on October 31st, 2008, which was the fifth game of his professional career. Green caught 15 passes for 239 yards and scored two touchdowns in 2009. His 15.9-yard average was the highest among Montreal Alouettes receivers. He was featured in a Toronto Globe article “CFL players of interest to the NFL”. Less than a week later, the New York Jets signed him.

After a short stint with the Jets, Green resigned with the Alouettes and picked up 875 yards and ranked third in the league with 10 receiving touchdowns on 58 receptions in 2010 for the two-time defending CFL champions. He followed up his huge 2010 with an even better 2011 season catching 87 passes for 1147 yards and being selected to the CFL East Divisional All-Star team. In the 98th Grey Cup, he caught nine passes for 102 yards to help the Alouettes win their second consecutive Grey Cup championship.

In 2010 and 2011, he recorded back-to-back 1000-yard seasons and was named an East Division All-Star both years. On February 13th, 2013, it was announced that Green had signed a two-year contract extension that would keep him signed through to the 2014 CFL season. Green played in 15 of the 18 regular season games in the 2014 season, and played in both of Montreal’s playoff games. In the 2 playoff games Green amassed an impressive 13 pass receptions for 221 yards, with 4 touchdowns. The 2014 season was his first season to not reach the 1000 yard plateau since the 2010 season. Nevertheless, he was named an CFL East All-Star for the fourth consecutive season. Following the 2014 season, Green and the Alouettes agreed to a 3-year contract extension that will keep him with the team through the 2017 season.

On April 20th, 2017, Green was traded to the Toronto Argonauts in exchange for a sixth round selection in the 2017 CFL Draft and a conditional pick in the 2018 Draft. In the third week of the season Green set a new career high for yards in game, when he caught 10 passes for 210 yards. It was his 19th career game, and second this season, with 100 or more yards receiving.

The featured blue and white reebok mayhem gloves were game worn by SJ Green when the Montreal Alouettes faced the Hamilton Tiger Cats on July 29th, 2011. Unfortunately for the Montreal Alouettes, they fell short 34-26 but Green had one of the best games of his CFL career with 8 catches and 150 yards. Green has signed the gloves and added to the right one “8 REC 150 Yards 7/29/11 VS HAMILTON” in black. Awesome!!

******Please note that SJ Green wore two pairs of gloves for this game.
