Description

Chase Litton is a quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Marshall University. He was signed by the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in 2018. Litton attended Wharton High School in Tampa, Florida. As a senior in 2013, he threw for nearly 2,200 yards and 13 touchdowns.

As a freshman in 2015, Litton was not originally the Thundering Herd’s starting quarterback, but took over the starting role in the third game of the season. In 11 games, Litton threw for 2,605 yards and 23 touchdowns, a Marshall freshman record. His top game came in a 34-10 victory at Charlotte, with a 33-of-48 day for 486 yards and two scores with no interceptions. The 486 yards ranked third in Herd single-game history, and his season-long 66-yard pass to Davonte Allen was for a TD.

In 2016, as a sophomore, Litton made ten starts at quarterback, missing two games due to injury. Litton became the fourth quarterback in Marshall history to pass for six touchdowns in a single game (Rakeem Cato, Chad Pennington and Byron Leftwich were the others), a feat accomplished in the season opener against Morgan State. He threw for 2,612 yards and 24 touchdowns against nine interceptions. Litton was one of only nine sophomore quarterbacks at the Division I FBS level who threw for 24 or more touchdown passes.

As a junior in 2017, Litton started all 13 of Marshall’s games, completing 266 of 443 passes for 3,115 yards and 25 touchdowns. Litton ranks fifth in MU history in career passing yards and fourth in career passing touchdowns. He also ranks in the top five in all-time completions (727, fourth) and attempts (1,197). Litton finished his career with 8,332 yards and 72 touchdown passes. Litton is one of four Marshall QBs in school history with at least 8,000 passing yards and 70 touchdowns, along with Rakeem Cato, Chad Pennington and Byron Leftwich. After the 2017 college season, Litton declared for the 2018 NFL Draft.
