David McCabe is a first baseman/ third baseman in the Atlanta Braves organization. He was drafted in the 4th Round of the 2022 MLB Draft by the Braves. He is currently the Atlanta Braves 14th Ranked Prospect. He played college baseball at UNC Charlotte.
The featured grey Nike Pants were game worn by David McCabe in 2023 as a member of the Rome Braves. The Rome Braves are a Minor League Baseball team of the South Atlantic League and the High-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. They are located in Rome, Georgia, and play their home games at AdventHealth Stadium. In 2023, McCabe played in 81 games with Rome and hit .281 with 9 HRs and 50 RBIs for an .816 OPS. He also showed tremendous plate discipline with 53 walks and 9 stolen bases. The talented slugger has signed the Pants and added “Game Worn” in black.
There is some writing on the waistband with G-29 and “JONES” written in blue. The Pants are tagged with “#2 YOUNG 2020 38-31-40 OB” with “#2 YOUNG 2020” crossed out. This most likely refers to former Braves first base coach Eric Young Sr who wore #2 with the Braves from 2018-2023. Young opted out of traveling with the Braves during the 2020 season, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Minor league teams re-use pants, jerseys, hats, shirts, etc so there is a good chance these Pants were worn by additional Braves players over the years.
