Diaz grew up in Vancouver, B.C, Canada and played for head coach Jim Chapman at Handsworth Secondary School. Diaz established himself firmly as the top relief prospect in the Braves system during the second half of the 2021 season. The big (6’5, 250), hard throwing Canadian by way of Michigan State saw his velocity increase dramatically as he is now able to hit the upper 90s with consistency. Assuming he continues to develop, he could easily be in the mix for the Atlanta Braves major league bullpen during the 2022 season.

In 2021 with Rome, Diaz pitched in 18 games and went 4-1 with a 1.00 ERA. In 27 innings pitched, he struck out 54! He also added 5 Saves and registered a 0.67 WHIP. During the season he was promoted to Double AA Mississippi and was lights out there as well. He pitched in 14 games and went 2-1 with a 1.50 ERA. He continued his dominance striking out 29 in 18 innings for the Braves. In his young minor league career, the 22 year old is 7-2 with a 1.63 ERA. He has struck out 98 in 55 innings and only given up 30 hits and 18 walks. The sky is bright for the Braves Pitcher!!
