JP Holtz is a tight end for the Washington Redskins. Holtz was signed by the Cleveland Browns shortly after the 2016 NFL Draft as an undrafted free agent. The versatile tight end attended Shaler Area High School in PA where he excelled in basketball and football. A talented center for the basketball team, Holtz helped lead Shaler to a regular season record of 20-2 his senior year, also earning a WPIAL AAAA Section 3 title and a PIAA Class AAAA playoff berth.

In his senior year, Holtz was also one of the nation’s top tight end recruits, ranked at No. 10 by Scout Recruiting. His awards and accolades include Pennsylvania Football News All-Class AAAA, Pittsburgh Tribune-Review’s “Terrific 25”, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s “Fabulous 22”, All Northern Seven, and was one of the players selected to play in the Big 33 Football Classic.

Described as the “Shaler ironman” by Matt Popchock of CBS Pittsburgh, Holtz’s attention led to numerous Division 1 offers including Michigan State, Purdue, West Virginia University, Syracuse, Virginia, and finally to Pitt where he decided to spend his next four years after his decommitment from Penn State amidst the Jerry Sandusky scandal.

In his freshman year at Pitt, Holtz quickly was acclimated to playing Division 1 football starting ten out of 13 games racking up 13 catches for 173 yards and three touchdowns. He also was named a Big East All-Academic Football team honoree. He followed that up with a stellar sophomore year starting all 13 games of the season and had 23 receptions for 209 yards.

In 2014, Holtz started every game and had 21 receptions for 199 yards and four touchdowns. One of the highlights was catching a 16-yard touchdown in the Armed Forces Bowl against Houston.

In his senior year, JP Holtz was named as a team captain for Pitt and had his best season yet, with 24 receptions for 350 yards, and adding four more receiving touchdowns to his career total. His touchdown catches came against Akron, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech and Duke–all Pitt victories. Holtz had a career-high 58 receiving yards (on three catches) vs. Notre Dame. For his tremendous season, the talented tight end was selected to play in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl All-Star game.

At Pitt’s NFL Pro Day, JP Holtz put up excellent numbers, running a 4.7 second 40 yd dash, and pushing out 20 reps on the bench press. The tight end has a bright future in the NFL!

The featured white, silver and black 3xl nike gloves were game worn by JP Holtz in the 2015 season as a member of the Pittsburgh Panthers. Holtz has signed the left glove and added “Game Worn” & ‘H2P!” and added “H2P!” to the right one in black. The “HTP” stands for Hail To Pitt. Holtz’s #86 is written on name tag on inside of each glove. The gloves show great use!!!
