LaQuan Williams is a free agent wide receiver, most recently playing for the Baltimore Ravens. He played his college ball for the Maryland Terrapins where he was a stand out special teams player. Williams has also been a member of the New England Patriots.

Williams attended the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute where he played on the football team as a quarterback and safety and on the basketball team as a shooting guard. In football, Williams won three varsity letters and started for two seasons. He caught 10 interceptions each in both his junior and senior seasons. In his final year, he gained 804 rushing yards, six rushing touchdowns, 630 passing yards, seven passing touchdowns, and returned two punts and a kickoff for touchdowns. The Baltimore Sun named him a second-team All-City player as a junior and a first-team All-City defensive back as a senior. In basketball, Williams was a four-year letter winner and averaged over 20.0 points per game. Williams was recruited by Maryland, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and James Madison.

As a Redshirt Freshman in 2007, Williams was named to The Sporting News ACC All-Freshman Team. He played in the first 10 games at wide receiver before missing the final three with a knee injury, making seven starts. Williams split time with Isaiah Williams at Z receiver and was fourth on the team with 217 receiving yards. He had a breakout game against the #10th Ranked Rutgers Scarlet Knights recording two catches for a career-high 66 yards, including a spectacular diving grab for 27 yards, which set up Keon Lattimore’s fourth-quarter TD. His other 39 yard grab helped set up a 1st half touchdown.

Williams played in all 13 games at wide receiver and on special teams his senior season, starting three times at WR. He had 12 special teams tackles which was tied for second on the team with Darin Drakeford and earned the special teams captain award at the end-of-year banquet. He added two blocked punts, one against Morgan State (9/11) and one against Wake Forest (10/30). He also caught a 24 yard touchdown pass and collected a career high 3 tackles against Wake Forest. He also had a 9 yard touchdown grab against the FIU Panthers in Maryland’s 42-28 win on 9/25/10. Williams also made what turned out to be the play of the Virginia game (11/13), an acrobatic 26-yard reception off a tipped pass on third-and-14 which kept the eventual game-winning drive alive. He had a season-best 29-yard catch that set up a touchdown against NC State (11/27) and also recorded a tackle on special teams and forced a fumble vs. the Wolfpack.

The Baltimore Ravens signed Williams as an undrafted free agent in 2011. In his first preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles, he made three catches for 46 yards and was the team’s second leading receiver behind tight end Dennis Pitta. Because of injury to Lee Evans, Williams played several games of the 2011 season as the Ravens’ third receiver, including the Sunday Night Football matchup which saw the team sweep their heated rival Pittsburgh Steelers, in which he notched two big receptions for first downs. Along with time at receiver, he was also a special teams standout, recording 4 tackles in his rookie season while also returning 5 kicks for 109 yards on a 21.8 yard average in 2011. He also finished with four special teams tackles. During the team’s Super Bowl run in 2012, Williams didn’t see any snaps on offense but collected five tackles on special teams.

The featured black forearm bands were game worn by Williams as a member of the Maryland Terrapins. He has signed one band in silver but the signature has smudged.
