Logan O’Hoppe is an American professional baseball catcher and designated hitter currently playing for the Texas Rangers organization. By 2023, O’Hoppe became the youngest Opening Day starting catcher in Angels franchise history. Despite a shoulder injury that sidelined him for part of his rookie year, he bounced back to hit 14 home runs in just 51 games. He solidified his status as a foundational player during the 2024 season, where he slugged a career-high 20 home runs and logged 56 RBIs while serving as one of the most durable catchers in the American League.

In late July 2026, the Los Angeles Angels traded O’Hoppe to the defending Lone Star state rivals, the Texas Rangers. He made his Rangers debut on August 23, 2026, hitting a single on his very first pitch against his former team. He split time between the Major League roster and Triple-A Round Rock as part of the 40-man roster to conclude the 2026 regular season.

Phelan was a close friend of Logan’s that tragically passed away in 2022 from leukemia at the age of 20. They grew up playing in similar travel ball circles, worked out at the same gym in the offseason, and developed a brotherly bond. O’Hoppe is very involved with Corey’s Promise, a foundation created by the Phelan family to ease the financial burdens (like travel, parking, and food costs) on families dealing with pediatric cancer.
