Description

Ryan Perrilloux is a free agent quarterback, most recently playing for the New York Giants of the National Football League. He was signed by the Hartford Colonials as an undrafted free agent for the United Football League in 2010. He played college football at Jacksonville State. He previously played college football for the LSU Tigers football team. For two seasons at LSU, he backed up starters JaMarcus Russell and Matt Flynn. He has been compared to Donovan McNabb by recruiting analyst Tom Lemming. On September 15, LSU Coach Les Miles decided to rest regular starter Matt Flynn, who had sprained his right ankle a week earlier and whose participation in practice had been limited since. That gave Perrilloux his 1st opportunity to show what he could do for LSU. In a 44-0 rout against Middle Tennessee, Perrilloux was flawless throwing for 298 yards and three touchdowns, while completing 20 of 25 attempts. On December 1, Perrilloux made his second start, this time in the SEC Championship Game versus Tennessee, replacing an injured Matt Flynn. He completed 20 of 30 passes for 243 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He also scored on a two-point conversion run. Perrilloux led the Tigers to a 21-14 win over the Volunteers, and was named the player of the game by CBS Sports. The victory helped propel the Tigers to the BCS National Championship Game against Ohio State, after #1 Missouri and #2 West Virginia lost later that night. It was the second time since 2001 that a backup quarterback led LSU to the SEC Championship Game victory (Matt Mauck did it in 2001 versus Tennessee).

On May 14, 2008, Perrilloux transferred to Jacksonville State University and was eligible to play immediately. He played his first game with Jacksonville State against Georgia Tech on August 28, 2008 in the starting quarterback position. Jacksonville State lost that game 41-14.

After an opening loss to Georgia Tech, Perrilloux led JSU to an 8-3 season, completing 174 of 276 passes for 2,199 yards and 19 touchdowns. He was also named OVC Newcomer of the Week and OVC Offensive Player of the Week during the season. The following season, Perrilloux was named Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Year in 2009 when he threw for 23 touchdowns and two interceptions.

In between the combine and the NFL Draft, NFL coaches and personnel — not to mention the prospects themselves — turn their attention to the various college “pro day” workouts. These are not as all-encompassing as the combine, but they are important enough for the key decision-makers in the league to travel around the country for more than a month to see the talent up close and personal.

Ryan Perrilloux measured in at his Jacksonville State Pro Day with a height of 6 2, 226 pounds. The weather was not ideal with light rain and windy conditions but he still ran the 40-yard dash in 4.79 seconds. He measured a 30-inch vertical jump, a 9-foot-3 broad jump and looked great throwing the ball in drills. Many football analysts have compared Perrilloux to former Pro Bowler Donovan McNabb.

The former New York Giants quarterback wore the featured red adidas shirt for his Pro Day performance. He has signed the Adidas XL shirt across the chest in black. The shirt features “Jacksonville State” across the back of shirt. Unique item by the former JSU Gamecock!
