Drake Baldwin is a catcher for the Atlanta Braves. Baldwin was drafted in the 3rd Round (86th Pick) of the 2022 MLB Draft by the Atlanta Braves. Baldwin played college baseball for Missouri State. He’s the highest Bear to be selected since Jeremy Eierman was taken by the Oakland Athletics in the second round with the 70th overall pick in 2018.
On March 21st, 2025, the Atlanta Braves selected Baldwin’s contract after he made the team’s Opening Day roster. He hit his first major league home run on April 16th, 2025 against Toronto Blue Jays reliever Jeff Hoffman at Rogers Centre. Baldwin finished his rookie campaign slashing .274/.341/.469 with 19 home runs and 80 RBI. On November 10th, he was named the 2025 National League Rookie of the Year.
